Beaches

Of the 10 blue flags awarded for clean beaches in Pembrokeshire in 2009 (more than any other county throughout Britain!), three of Tenby’s beaches were awarded this honour. Hafod y Môr overlooks Tenby’s north beach and the town’s harbour. It is only a 200 yard walk down the cobbled road to the beach from the house. The south beach spans for 2km from St Catherine’s Island to Giltar Point looking toward Caldey Island, whilst Castle beach lies in the cove between Castle Hill and the East Cliff – you could walk across to the island at low tide taking care not to be cut off! North Beach is probably the most popular with its many rock pools and easy access There is a dog ban on the beaches from May to September.

Boats run from Tenby harbour to Caldey Island and for tours around the bay. Beaches are controlled by lifeguards during the summer season (10am – 6pm).
